Everett presents Case Closed! at the Carriage House, 9 Duncan Avenue, Providence, Rhode Island on Friday & Saturday, September 9 & 10.
Doors open at 8pm. Show starts at 8:30.
Daydream in the Ghetto explores living in a world where opportunities are offered based more on where you come from, rather than on who you are. It shows what it’s like to maneuver around obstacles to reach your goal, and it expresses choices given and choices made.
Case Closed! was founded by Sokeo Ros in 2004 to promote empowerment of youth through the arts.
Case Closed! is a professional troupe of young dancers, who create and perform together using hip hop as their core form and classical dance as a trajectory. In many ways Daydream in the Ghetto is their story – a tale of overcoming negativity through creativity, of moving through darkness towards light, of choosing to do the right thing despite how wrong the world sometimes feels.
Everett, through its Company, Stage and School brings diverse art to diverse audiences. With a 25-year history, and a Company that tours nationally; a vibrant stage of monthly programming; and a school that offers classes in everything from ballet to improvisation, Everett is at the forefront of integrating art and community.
