Headliner: Youth Freedom Project

Young artists from the community have been creating dance and theater pieces that explore the meaning of freedom in a country that incarcerates people at the highest rate in the world. Everett artists are mentoring the youth in their creative process. They’ve been teaching them to build work through research and a variety of theatrical techniques. Performances will be workshopped through multiple Open Stage and Youth Freedom Café events.

 About Open Stage:

Everett presents Open Stage, a monthly event for young performers featuring house dance troupe Case Closed! and hosted by Everett’s Sokeo Ros & Bianca Bevilacqua. Open Stage happens on the first Friday of each month from 8 to 9:30 p.m., immediately following the Friday Night Live comedy show at 7 p.m.

The aim is to give local youth performers a forum to show their talents in front of a live audience. Each show will feature a different headliner and local hip hop theater troupe Case Closed! Audience members will have the opportunity to sign up for a 5-minute performance slot before each show.

Doors open @ 8pm! $5 @ the door.

Everett Stage: 9 Duncan Ave Providence, RI 02906

*THE SHOW STARTS WITH FAMILY-FRIENDLY MATERIAL. AFTER A SHORT INTERMISSION, THE REMAINDER OF THE PROGRAM MAY CONTAIN MORE MATURE CONTENT.
