Open Stage

Everett presents The Open Stage, a monthly event for young performers featuring house dance troupe Case Closed! and hosted by Everett’s Sokeo Ros & Bianca Morris. The Open Stage happens on the first Friday of each month from 8 to 9:30 p.m., immediately following the Friday Night Live comedy show at 7 p.m.
The aim is to give local youth performers a forum to show their talents in front of a live audience. Each show will feature a different headliner and local hip-hop theater troupe Case Closed! Audience members will have the opportunity to sign up for a 5-minute performance slot before each show.

This month’s double headliners are Paso Sensual and Oliver “Sydesho” Arias.

Paso Sensual is based out of Providence, RI. This company was founded, by instructor and choreographer, Brandon Contreras and his partner Sinthia Lopez on October 18th 2011. They brought together a group of twelve talented and passionate young men and women from Rhode Island. For over the last 18 months, they have performed in New York City, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They also perform for communities and events such as Toys for Tots in Pawtucket, culture shows, Providence College, Brown University and URI. They continue to grow and have recently reached new waters. Their specialty is Bachata but they have found ways to incorporate other styles into their performances. Their catch phrase is one word, “Passion,” because that is what drives them to dance.

Oliver “Sydesho” Arias is a local Hip Hop artist dedicated to promoting positivity and creativity within the Rhode Island community. As member of Project 401(A coalition of local artists with similar goals), he works to instill education and social justice to the underprivileged Providence youth. His love for dance and Hip Hop culture have laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors, and future success.
